Biomedical Students to Conduct NASA Research Over Summer

Congratulations to Jack Felipe, Michelle Meyers, and Sabrina Vander Wiele, for receiving the New Jersey Space Grant Consortium Summer Research Internship to conduct NASA-related research. All three biomedical engineering students will be examining the relationship between space radiation and bone.

This internship is awarded to students enrolled in New Jersey universities to further research and education in aerospace and STEM in New Jersey. The summer internship will last ten weeks and students will each receive a $5,000 stipend to conduct their NASA research. At the end of the summer, students will present their work during the yearly internship conference at the end of the summer. Reflecting on the opportunity, Sabrina stated: “I never dreamed I’d actually be helping NASA to answer some burning questions we have.” All three students are rising juniors in TCNJ Engineering, who are working towards graduate school.
