Professor James Purcell, P.E., Chosen as NCEES President-Elect

TCNJ engineering professor James Purcell was selected to serve as the president-elect for The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES).  The NCEES is a prestigious organization and it’s operations are integral to the engineering industry. The organization’s website explains its function as “a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional licensure for engineers and surveyors.”  The vision statement on the site reads that the NCEES seeks to  “provide leadership in professional licensure of engineers and surveyors through excellence in uniform laws, licensing standards, and professional ethics in order to safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of the public and to shape the future of professional licensure.” The board of directors for the NCEES is composed of engineers from across the country, working diligently to improve the industry.

As a professor at TCNJ, James Purcell will be able to share the valuable knowledge he gains from his new position with his students, expanding their understanding of the engineering field. At TCNJ, Professor Purcell also lends his talents beyond the classroom by serving as an external advisor for the Civil Engineering Department. Congratulations  Professor Purcell!
