Every year, TCNJ School of Engineering students are brought together to participate in the campus’ annual hackathon, HackTCNJ. Students spend a weekend building an app, website, or product to compete for various prizes given to the best hacks.
This year, four ECE students won the prize for “Best Utility Hack” by building a mobile/cloud application that provides a crowd-source music playlist for parties and events. Their project, the “Super Automated Bumpin’ Request Engine” or Sabre II, is an interactive app that allows users to create and organize music playlists based on user upvotes. Songs can be searched using the Apple Music API and can be added to the queue. Once a song is added, users can upvote the songs they would like to hear and the songs will play in the order of popularity.
Congratulations to these engineering students and all the other students who took the time to participate in HackTCNJ!
