Electrical engineering students Stephen Coppi ’14 and Tim Nugent ’14 received the “Best Undergraduate Poster” award at the 2014 IEEE Power and Energy Society (IEEE PES) Student Poster Contest for their MUSE Research. Both students worked with Dr. Anthony Deese within the Smart Electric Power System Laboratory (SEPS). The focus of their project was the evaluation of various phasor measurement units (PMU) and related algorithms, to determine the best sensor array for smart power grids. Stephen is currently an RF Engineer at Triad RF Systems and Tim is weighing a number of employment opportunities. The School of Engineering and ECE Department are proud of the Stephen and Tim’s hard work and accolades. More information on the SEPS labratory and IEEE PES can be found by following the links below.
