A Message from the Dean

Welcome to the School of Engineering! Our website is a great place to see the many accomplishments and activities that occur every day in our School.

The success of our students and alumni is no accident. We have brought together expert researchers who are committed to mentoring the next generation of engineers and teachers. These professors embrace the concept of the teacher-scholar model in which both innovative teaching and research can flourish. We emphasize quality, not quantity – giving our professors the time and ability to bring their students into their research and design projects. Our engineering and education degrees provide a solid foundation from which our graduates pursue a variety of careers in engineering, education, law and medicine.

Our graduates go onto graduate school, professional school, or directly into employment. We have an outstanding placement record as employers and graduate programs actively seek out our well-qualified students. Recent employers include: General Electric, Lockheed Martin, ITT, IBM, Johnson and Johnson, PSE&G, Mobil, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Lucent Technologies, Raytheon, Merck, Johnson Controls, MicroSoft, and Ortho McNeil Pharmaceutical to name a few. Recent graduate/professional schools include: Johns Hopkins, Yale, Stanford, Princeton, The University of Michigan, The University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, Florida State University, Dartmouth, Drexel, Penn State University, Lehigh, Rutgers, Villanova, and the University of Washington.

We are passionate about engineering education!
