Mechanical Engineer Kelly Sibree wins ASME Scholarship

The School of Engineering would like to congratulate Kelly Sibree on earning the 2017-2018 F. W. “Beich” Beichley Scholarship from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).  The award is in memory of F.W. Beichley, the former vice president of ASME Region IX and the Field Services Director for the Western Regional Office of ASME International. Since its inception in 1996, the award has been given out annually to students who exhibit exemplary “character, integrity, leadership, scholastic ability, and potential contribution to the mechanical engineering profession”.

In the fall, Sibree will be entering her senior year as a mechanical engineering major. Last year, she served as the vice president of the TCNJ student chapter of ASME. In the upcoming academic year she will continue her participation in the organization, taking on the role of co-president. Sibree states she is “extremely appreciative and honored” to have been selected for the scholarship. After she graduates TCNJ next spring, she hopes to earn her Master’s degree part time while working in the industry.  As a student who is interested in various aspects of Mechanical Engineering, Sibree states that she’s keeping an open mind to all the different opportunities that will be presented to her.
