Twenty-five students from the department of Technological Studies attended the TEECA (Technology and Engineering Education Collegiate Association) Eastern Regional Conference. These students were Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Seniors and Graduate students that are Technology and iSTEM Education Majors.The conference was held Nov. 10-12th at the Virginia Beach Resort Hotel and Conference Center. The purpose of the event was to serve as an opportunity for Technology Education students to make connections with professors and students in the Technology Education Field. It also provided an opportunity for TCNJ students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills through various friendly competitions.
TCNJ won several competitions which included: 1st place at the Communications Competition (Ellie Barkin, Matthew Iannelli, Kevin Rutz, Joyce Seifried), and 1st place at the Instruction Module Competition (Jessica Didyoung, Samantha Stonajov, Courtney McGovern). TCNJ also ranked very highly in the following competitions: 2nd place at the Poster Session (Joanna Papadopoulos, Chris Papadopoulos, Jason Erdreich), 2nd place for Mechatronics (Chris Papadopoulos, Katie Cinege, James Mekilo), and 3rd place at the Quiz Bowl (Ellie Barkin, Frank Caccavale, Kevin Cardenas, Joanna Papadopoulos).
Ellie Barkin stated “The conference was a great experience for all involved. The students left the conference excited to attend this years national conference in Orlando, Florida which will be held March 26-29th.”
