The College of New Jersey’s National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) hosted the annual NSBE Jersey Zone Conference here at TCNJ. The event is hosted annually by different NSBE chapters throughout their region and invites alumni, professional practicing NSBE members, college NSBE members and high school students to a full day of lectures, workshops and networking.
The keynote speaker was the School of Engineering’s own Dean Schreiner who commended NSBE for preparing future leaders in engineering and computer science saying “ Society needs groups like you to prepare and encourage students to become the engineering and technology leaders of tomorrow.” Additional presentations were given by alumni of the organization and TCNJ’s Career Center on the topic of how to continually improve oneself, and college planning for high school students. TCNJ chapter members presented a case study on NSBE membership retention to the professional members.
The event had a great turn out and was an informative experience for everyone. Members were able to network and exchange ideas and high school students were introduced to a welcoming collegiate environment. To learn more about the event, TCNJ’s NSBE club, and see more pictures, see the links below.
